I really want to download books with BitTorrent but I’m worried about getting caught. How can i download books without getting caught?

I don’t think illegal things (like violations of the DMCA) should be discussed here, man

go home and do it.

you’re most likely gonna get caught if you do it on the school’s internet provider.

grow a brain. don’t discuss illegal things on public forum.

Where else would he ask? It’s not like somebody will track his ip and come arrest him. To answer your question, I doubt anybody will find and sue you for downloading textbooks, but why not just buy the textbook used and resell next semester?

If these are the kind of people they are letting into the school now, I shudder to think about the future of our country.

Lawls ;)

lol @ people’s responses…

be smart about it and dont download popular movies/books etc… because those most likely are tracked ;]

Be smart and don’t download anything that is illegal.

Be an idiot and contact IST

you can download it, but know that you are taking an infinitesimally small risk by doing so.

uploaders are sued more than downloaders.

As long you don’t keep seeding stuff after you have it, you can be safe

Peer Guardian!

Hmm… try http links…
I think http/ direct downloads aren’t monitored. :)

AFAIK, the agencies who file suits against ‘torrenters’ watch college campus networks very closely as they are hotbeds for this kind of activity, so I would be careful.

I doubt that textbook companies make use of those agencies.

if you’re planning to download, download via DC++ or direct download. :-P
