<p>Is there a penalty for downloading music from sites such as hypem? I’m not downloading music from utorrent or anything like that, but are sites harmful as well? I know people who have been notified by the college to stop downloading music, but I’m not sure if they are using a P2P networking application or are downloading music from simple music blogs</p>

<p>music blogs are A-ok. As long as it’s direct downloading (rapidshare, mp3 files, etc) then it’s fine. No BitTorrent because it involves uploading which is a red flag.</p>
<p>Don’t use torrents and you’ll be fine.</p>
