This was my junior year and I had some family problems at home. My gpa clearly dropped this year and I was wondering if colleges would be forgiving because of my situation. If it helps I have good test scores. Thanks for your responses!
It will depend on the school and how your GC writes about it in his/her recommendation.
@“Erin’s Dad” what is a GC
GC = Guidance Counselor
Depends on the school. Those that do a holistic review will take into account whatever information they are given, so your GC needs to advocate for you (as Erin’s Dad said). But if you are applying to a State U or similar, they are usually more numbers driven - your GPA and test score are heavily weighted. The rest may not count for much. Just make sure your grades come up again senior year, if that’s possible.
