Dr. Chris Kirk wins excellence in teaching award

<p>The Friar Society interrupted class to present him with the award, a check for $25,000, and we got out of class early. Article about it here. </p>

<p>Dr. Kirk teaches ANT 301, Intro to Physical Anthropology, among other classes. Even if you don’t need the specific credit, I highly recommend this class. He is a dynamic lecturer, the material is interesting. I’ve known many students who leave the class wanting to take more anthropology classes or even wanting to change their major. </p>

<p>My friend is in one of his classes and raves about him all the time. She was actually in the class when they presented him wth his check! My class was canceled one day so I went with her to her class because she always talked about how awesome he is. I was not disappointed. He was hilarious, interesting, and clearly passionate about his subject matter. It was an intro Physical Anth class which was easily 100 people, and he had the whole room laughing. He definitely deserves this!! And he just had a baby! Congrats Professor Kirk!</p>

<p>I’m in your friend’s class! Small world. He is entertaining but he knows his stuff too. He is gifted at teaching, which not enough professors are. I love the class. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and definitely take another class from him if possible.</p>
