Sympathies to his colleagues and friends at the Baylor College of Medicine, Tulane University, and the may hearts he touched, literally and figuratively.

Dr. DeBakey operated on my uncle way back in the early sixties when he was just beginning to become so well-known. I’ve followed all the stories about his career ever since and I was saddened to learn of his death.

That’s incredible, patsmom. Your uncle was most fortunate.

as someone who had pioneering open heart surgery at the Mayo Clinic at the age of 3 (in 61) I have gratitude to Dr DeBakey and all he contributed to the field as well as others who truly put their hearts into healing others.
