Draymond Green

I was wondering what some of your thoughts are on Draymond. Having coached youth sports for years at the elementary, middle and high school level, I just don’t get how the NBA has let Draymond get away with his behaviour. As coaches we are trained with a huge emphasis on sportsmanship and on the field behaviour. A lot of kids copy what they see. I get that Draymond has issues and the league is trying to help him but …

I have a sweet spot for Draymond because he went to Michigan State.

I think he needs to get his on court behavior in check.

I did hear that when he got ejected the other night, it was very different than the other transgressions this season.

So I’m somewhat hopeful that he’s getting the help he needs while also being able to be who he needs to be on the court

I get that he is personable and likeable but how many second chances should he get? IMO he should be out of the league. If it was a different player or different franchise I think he would have been done a while ago.

I’m not sure this topic wouldn’t be better on the politics board.

I understand it’s not political but there might be more willing to debate.

I don’t have the bandwidth to do that

I get what you are saying…but hopefully parents are able to impress on their kids that NBA players are great athletes but that alone should not make them a role model.

I guess my problem is more with the league. The messaging is that this behaviour is ok.
