I hate chances because 1) we don’t know more than you can find out on collegeboard.com and 2) we don’t know what the admissions office is truly looking for in individuals and in filling the class. I do know that Mudd considers more than stats, but don’t know how they put it all together.

However, I would suggest that ANYONE interested in Mudd also look at Rose Hulman, a very good, similar school with slightly less competitive admissions. Rose Hulman is always ranked by USNWR (for whatever THAT’S worth) number 1 for engineering programs in schools without PhDs, and sometimes they let Mudd share that spot with them.

I agree with Geekmom63. You’ll make yourself crazy trying to make predictions. Visit Mudd if you can too. Look at Olin, out in MA as well, and maybe WPI/RPI as more likely backups.
Also check on the Mudd site to see if they are visiting in your area.

My son is a frosh at HMC. HMC couldn’t do anything wrong by him. He is in absolute bliss there. He is a math/science wiz. Original plan: biochemical engineering. But-- really loving his computer science class. Not doing as well as he expects/wants to in his engineering class. But that is the reality check at HMC. No grade inflation. Bigwigs from various great schools gather at HMC and realize they are just one of the guys there.
