<p>How many of you are attending your dream school?</p>

<p>I’ll start:</p>

<p>I am - Rice University.</p>

<p>Dream schools were Princeton and Yale, and I’ll be going to the former.</p>

<p>I have 5 dream schools…cool. Only I don’t have a chance at two of them. :D</p>

<p>honestly though, right now my dream schools are fighting each other for the affections of my imagination. so… we’ll see.</p>

It’s true that the two student bodies are often perceived to be quite different. Princeton still is left with the “southern gentleman” elitist image, while Yale’s often thought to have a much more liberal, offbeat student population. However, when I visited, those differences were virtually nonexistent. I met amazing people at both places, and realized that stereotypes of both places were just that–stereotypes.
There were a couple main things in my mind that connected Princeton and Yale for me. Obviously, they’re both excellent for academics. More importantly, they both are very undergraduate-friendly. Princeton’s often praised for this, but Yale College, I think, is also a stellar place for undergraduates. Both schools also have gorgeous campuses–Gothic architecture, lots of greenery, etc. They’re both BEAUTIFUL.
But perhaps most importantly, I enjoyed the feeling I got at both places. It’s an intangible draw, and one that I can’t describe. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about–while it wasn’t quite the “I LOVE THIS PLACE WITH ALL MY HEART”, it was a feeling of belonging, the “I’d be thrilled if I could spend my next four years here” feeling.</p>

<p>In the end, I wasn’t able to make the Princeton/Yale choice…I ended up being rejected from Yale RD. I get a feeling I’d choose the former anyway–financial aid, and I’m a science kid.</p>

<p>I am, sort of. I got rejected from one dream school, but I’m attending Rice, which for me was pretty much equal.</p>

<p>My dream school switched twice, at first it was JHU, but then I changed my mind to MIT…I got into both, so I guess I got pretty damn lucky. So yeah, I’m going to my dream school!!</p>
