Dress at CMC?

Just curious, how do students at CMC (in general) dress? I heard that at some of the LACs on the east coast, students won’t even wear something as ‘scrubby’ as jeans to class (eek!). Anyone know if CMC’s different?

When I visited, everything was pretty casual. There were some girls who were wearing sweatshirts, t-shirts, jeans, flip flops etc. and some others who were a little more dressed up. Of course I didn’t stay long enough to go to a class, but I don’t think CMC is anything like that.

I second that. It was pretty casual when I went there, but slightly preppier than Pomona, Scripps, and Pitzer, which were just more down to earth. Still, at CMC, most people were wearing jeans, maybe a nice shirt, and flip flops.

yeah CMC definitely reflects the California laid back attitude—there did seem to be some preppiness, but other than that nobody spends that much time on their appearance as people on the east coast do just for class.

class meaning “going to the classroom” LoL not status.

When I visited, the attire seemed even more laid back than earlier said. I saw several students in pajamas and an old tee-shirt. granted, i went in the summer and there wasn’t many people around. Good luck to everybody

If you want to experience contrast in dress, do as we did and drive straight form Pepperdine (stilettos paired with a shocking pink cashmere (?) track suit) to Claremont McKenna. The dress at the latter mirrors that at a top rated large suburban Bay Area high school.

When I visited, no one was sober.
