Shoe shopping! Yay!!!
I like your idea of a wedge.

“I wasn’t insulting you, emilybee…”

oh, i know that! i didn’t take it as an insult at all.

It’s just not only do i look good in every color and I also look good in every style except anything wide with no shape to it. ;

Thumper - the green dress is very shear and quite light in color - does that change your opinion on the dreariness of the color? i

The green is a watered silk. Also, the pattern isn’t really a pattern - just has different swirls of black.

The red is a blend of rayon and something else.

Watered silk is dressier than rayon and whatever. I still say, Wear whatever you feel better in, but also consider the “dressy-ness” of each dress vis a vis how dressed up you want to be.

“Shoe shopping! Yay!!!
I like your idea of a wedge.”

Now i just need to find one. it’s kind of late in the season already.

Zappos? Clearance? Let’s roll! :)

My one-day Zappos delivery trick: buy a pair of socks or something considered “clothing”, and they would ship the entire thing overnight. A pair of hose gets my $1000-multiple-pair order on my front porch in less than 24 hrs. I usually keep the socks (hose, undies, etc.), but if if I buy a clothing item and it does not fit, it can go back with the non-chosen shoes.

" but also consider the “dressy-ness” of each dress vis a vis how dressed up you want to be.’

I asked my sister what she was wearing and she is wearing something fancier than a sundress, but summery-ish. Not what one would to dinner in the city, for example - which i think the red dress would be more appropriate for.

I feel good in both dresses.

Hmm, with that given information, I’m leaning towards the green. The party is a mix of inside and outside. The wedges with the outfit really made me like that option.

Forget it! I’m team green!

Emily…wear whichever one you like. I really can’t stand the color green. I think that is a dreary green, and no,the sheerness or dressings of the fabric does not change my mind. I think the red is a cheerier color dress, and I like the style better.

I like the green dress much better. Although as a rule I don’t like green much. But, I still think the green dress wins.

Watered silk, indoors and outdoors? definitely green!

OK, I think i am going to go with the green. It’s really not a dreary color at all, imo. there is actually two greens in the dress one which is lighter and one slightly darker. There is also some white swirls, too.

Now for shoes. I have never done Zappos.

I’m still looking at Saks and this one is kind of what i have in mine but I don’t know if it is pretty enough for the dress.

I think that the green is more flowing and summery. OK, on to the shoes!

Emilybee, I love Prada shoes, but sheesh I cannot stand it when Dr Miuccia sticks her logo in a prominent spot!

What about something like this (not necessarily in cork, but a similar style):

<a href=“Stuart Weitzman Riveria | Zappos.com”>http://m.zappos.com/stuart-weitzman-playful-natural-cork

What does everyone think of these. i really like them.

No to the blue shoes.

I’m glad you chose the green; it seems perfect for the occasion and it’s a beautiful dress. As an added bonus, the red is more versatile, so there will likely be more opportunities to wear it in the future (say, to lunch in the city in the fall).

Hate to say it, but personally I am not crazy about the shoes. I would wear a strappy sandal with a medium to high heel, not a wedge. If I’m reading the picture correctly, the dress is longer than knee length; is that correct? I don’t like wedge heels or flats with dresses of that length. From the way you describe the party, heels would be perfectly appropriate.

"No to the blue shoes.’

they come in black. don’t know why the link showed the blue ones.

BB, I don’t like the logo on the prada, either.

can’t see a big picture of the SW.

I’ll have to look later, dinner time.

If uneven surfaces and/or grass is involved, wedges would be a better choice.

Or a wider heel like this:
