I need shoe advice.
I bought this dress to wear to my H.S. class reunion (50th!) in mid September. (and to a wedding in late October).

Would either work? Not sure if the nude shoes would be ok, and the black are suede. Is suede too “fall/winter” for mid September?
Should I just buy a new pair of shoes?

Love the dress!! IMO, nude/beige/flesh colored shoes like the elegant sandals you have are always fine with a black dress.
Of course, I’d jump on any opportunity to shop for shoes…

I like the way the black shoes ground the dress. Also it’s fall so I like the darker shoe myself.
That’s very slight and either shoe would work great. Pretty dress.
I wore black suede shoes with a dress for a wedding in September and wore the same outfit again in April. I thought it looked fine

I think the black look a bit too heavy with that sleeveless dress. I’m also not too crazy about the nude with it either. Saying that, I really like both of them, just not with that dress. I’d look for a similar pair like the nude, but only in black, silver or gold.

I think I’d go with a little less substantial black shoe for September.
BUT, I am not a shoe expert.
I think the nude shoe is fine! September just about anywhere could be 85 degrees - mid Oct I might think different!
I think the black are too heavy looking. I like the light flowy look of the sandal with the dress.
Also I’d save my $ to buy a fun pair of shoes I’ll use all fall instead of a pair I’d wear once for a reunion.

Susie is a former Nordstrom stylist and this is a dress she has shown over and over. You’ll see here she shows it with both silver or gold strappy sandals. She did a blog post recently about how black shoes can ruin a look. I found that very interesting and realized she is right. I have a new way of choosing shoes now after reading her advice.
I think a nude shoe would be fine, but it should be something that blends in well with your skin tone so you really don’t see it.

I wear a size 9.5 and my heel is narrow, so shoe shopping is not fun for me. These have great reviews.

I wore a navy dress with silver shoes (with multicolor bling) to an Oct wedding in TN. I think the jewelry made it work.

I love this dress! I commend you for being able to wear a 3 inch heel- wish I could still do this! This shoe is beautiful and I like both silver and black.

Love the dress FallGirl! I would go with a strappy black sandal. I agree that the black shoes you have are too heavy. The other shoe is really more of a bone than a nude. Kudos to you for being able to wear the heels!
I think they will look great with your dress, but I’m another who would have a hard time wearing them for long.
I love those and if they are 3” and under, it should work. Make sure it’s padded in the footbed.

Take another pair with you just in case they start hurting during the reception. Just keep in the car.
