It’s an Alex Evenings, and I got it on sale for about 80 bucks! Bought it when I didn’t need it, because there will always be a time when I do need something!

Splendid choice. And great price for Alex Evenings. The make great stuff. (Hoping the local shoppers thinks so too because last week I dropped off an Alex Evenings MOB dress/jacket at the consignment shop.)

I might want to get another dress in a different color—mostly have shades of blue. I love the zippy purple dress you wore. You could be a model!

That is absolutely not too much. Especially if you know you want to use the opportunity for some family photos.

I may have shared this before, but at ds’s recent grad school graduation we were coordinated both days in black and red. Ds’s school colors are red (cardinal) and white. I can’t begin to tell you how many people came up to us and complimented how nice we looked/how clever we were to wear a school color. After the third or fourth comment my husband leaned over and quietly said, “These people aren’t SEC.”:rofl::rofl:

So, I don’t know if being color-coordinated is strictly a Southern thing or not, but it’s definitely common here.

Omg!!! That’s so funny about wearing the school’s color to graduation….bc that absolutely has been my plan for S’s graduation next May!!!

(And yet ironically, the school my son attends doesn’t even have a football team….but I totally plan to wear the college colors!)

I’m from Florida and live in a college town.
:football:

Hoggirl - haha, yes, my daughter graduated in May and my whole outfit was matched to her school colors, as was my husband’s shirt. We also got a few compliments and I have to say - the semi-professional pix we got of daughter on grad day really did look nice with the coordination, lol. If it’s a southern thing - love it - even here in the northeast!

I recently bought this dress
https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/the-somerset-maxi-dress13?

Thinking it will be a nice fall dress.

I’d like to wear not sandals with it. Could I wear nude ballet flats? I don’t want buy a new pair of shoes, I wear flats very rarely.

I don’t own any knee high boots anymore, I do have booties. I have these?

Could they work?

Absolutely those boots would work! They would be amazing with that dress. When it gets a little chillier, pop on a cropped jean jacket!

It was really warm yesterday for the fall. I had to search my summer clothing. I found an animal print woven midi skirt that I wear in the summer. I decided I’m keeping it my closet now and pairing it knee high black boots.

I’ve been doing a little shopping, but not too much. I’m determined to wear what I have that hardly was worn last fall and winter. But I’ve had to go to the mall for gifts, and really have a hard time not shopping.

So, these are the things I’ve purchased. First, I rarely shop Altar’d State but do pop in occasionally. This strapless bustier in the window caught my eye. It was paired with a plaid blazer and looked adorable. I’m long waisted and it was long enough to go with my high waist jeans and faux leather black pants. With my plaid blazer, it looks great. It has boning so you don’t have to wear a bra and fabric is nice and thick.
