Dressing Young 2026

Thanks, I’ll check it out! Here’s a photo of me just before I started on phentermine. 41 pounds ago.

Thanks, I’ll check this out.

Well done on the weight loss!

Per shoes, for me it would really depend on the predicted weather/temps. In April, in many cooler places I’d opt for pumps. (Bonus is that if it happens to be really cold, you could add sheer black or grey pantyhose. )

It won’t be cool in Austin. It was in the 80s today.

I ordered this dress as a possible one to wear to the wedding

That one fit OK, but the yellow color is actually kind of a neon green, so now I’m trying this one. It’s not colors I would normally wear, but it’s worth a try. I will return the other one but know if I get desperate I can reorder it.

That’s too bad about neon green flowers that were supposed to be yellow! Hope the next one you ordered fits, and the colors you normally would not pick look good.

That first Maggy London Dress is one of the ones I had shown you. I also mentioned that besides at Dillards, it is available on Amazon. I think it is very pretty.

This is a similarly styled dress:

I don’t know what the others are that are choices, but I like this blue one more than the pastels.

Maggie London makes lovely garments. These are very attractive options.

Me too! The blue one!

You ladies mean you like the bright blue one better than the pastel blue one, correct? I like it better too. I may wind up just having to live with the electric green/yellow color. BUT, I figured it was worth trying the other too. I am still hoping I might find something I like better overall.

This one: Access Denied

(Don’t know why it says access denied…it opens the first Dillard’s link)

Yes, the darker/bright blue. Why do you have to live with the pastel one?

Personally I find pastels wash us out, especially as we get older. I think vibrant jewel tones tend to be more flattering on many of us. I rarely wear pastels.

The dark blue, the contrasting color is lime green. @1214mom felt it was a little bright for her.

Why she’s ordering the lighter color.

It might be that the lighter color dress has more vibrant colors since it seems that is the case with the dark blue dress.

I get it, finding a dress that you like. Don’t want to spend a fortune for the type of dress that may not get much use in the future

I mean I might “have to live with” the very bright yellow ‘green color if I can’t find something I like better than that dress. @deb922 has it correct - I’m thinking the colors may be a little brighter than shown on the pastel looking one. The bright blue is a color I look very good in, and if the yellow wasn’t so darn bright I’d be done looking.

Do you think you’d feel any differently in the bright colors when we are in spring and summer - as opposed to this never-ending cold and dreary winter??

I think they are all pretty. The cornflower blue one (that’s what I’ll call it) is a gorgeous color and I bet would look great on you.

Thanks. I will try it on again, and I may wind up with it in the end. I also think if I get another one of the same dress and the yellow is in a different place that could make a difference.

Sézane is opening a store in Seattle down at U Village in the spot where Tommy Bahama used to be.

I’ve spent too much time during my convalescence scrolling through IG. There are a lot of scarf tying videos, which prompted me to pull one of my nice ones out to wear today. It broke up the monochromatic outfit nicely.

I do wonder, though, how so many so-called makeup artists on it are wearing the worst looking makeup. :woman_shrugging:t2:
