Does this dress look formal enough for a “garden party cocktail” wedding guest?

I’d love to visit one of their stores.

The store near me is great. I am pretty sure it’s also the OG since it was founded/ headquartered here. They keep opening new stores so they may come to you!

I have to admit that I thought they were a fast fashion place akin to forever 21 and the like. They are at the close local mall, but I’ve only walked past it; I guess I should stop in next time.

Yes, it’s perfect! Just add some silver ankle strap sandals to notch it up a little more for “cocktail”. I love those medley of colors , some of my favorite.

@zeebamom -Evereve is definitely NOT fast fashion. They carry a lot of really nice lines of clothing as well as their own brand. And many, if not most styles work for all ages. Check out their website and see if you like what they sell.

Interestingly, a friend of mine thought Quince was fast fashion, too. No, just basics at good prices.

I like Evereve, but often pass it by. The sales ladies at mine drive me crazy. They’ve been taught to find alternatives and I just want them to leave me alone.

They do like to “help”. Sometimes I appreciate that, but other times I have told them “just looking” and they leave me alone.

Remember when WHBM made the sales helP put in the dressing room all sorts of things you never asked for? I wonder what decision from Corporate finally made stop doing that?

I have had such good luck with helpful (low pressure) sales people at WHBM. Especially patient with my husband there with me too. I do feel a little bad that both times looking, MOG garden semi-floral & casual/pants, did not buy anything.

Interestingly there are many Evereve stores in Colorado, including at places I’ve shopped (including nearby Boulder). But I’ve never noticed the store or heard anybody else mention it. The pricepoints are higher than I’d normally pay, unless for an item that would get a lot of use. (When I lost weight about 8 years ago I splurged on a pair of NYDJ black Marilyn jeans at a local shop and have worn them ever so much! Great investment.)

I haven’t tried any of the Evereve brand, but I do keep an eye out for when the brands I like are put on clearance. I’ve gotten some really good deals on Rails and Varley. I do laugh when they have a sitewide “sale” as the markdowns are maybe 10% off? Not worth getting excited about for me.

This is what has driven me to be a mostly online shopper. I have brands that I am loyal to and can pretty accurately predict how things will look on me, sizes, etc. Places that I do pop into so I can grab something quickly are Ulta & Sephora and I have to say that their salespeople must have been instructed to hover - especially in Ulta, where there is a salesperson in practically every aisle. I’m guessing it’s to control shoplifting, but I don’t enjoy being monitored and if nothing else, it causes me to get out of the store as soon as I can, rather than browse and end up buying more than I came in for.

How are people liking Anthro lately? I do buy some varieties of the “Colette” pants because I like the higher rise and the wider leg, but what is happening elsewhere? Shirts with embroidered dogs & cats? “Two-fer” sweatshirt dresses? (no shade to anyone who likes those, just not my style). Anthro was one of my go-to’s and I’m just not liking anything lately.

I’ve been trying stuff from Aritzia lately (buying online as I hear that stores are not necessarily a pleasant experience). I’ve liked everything I’ve gotten so far. Nice quality on their tees and pants & sweaters. For the quality, I think the price point is reasonable. My style leans toward neutral, classic, modern pieces. I don’t go for busy florals or prints. Still figuring out their sizing but getting help from TikTok

I haven’t really found anything I love in Anthro as far as tops in awhile. I saw the animal graphics, not my thing. Hopefully they will have some nice summer tops.

I feel like anthro is sometimes great, sometimes not so much depending on what they’ve decided is ‘in’ fashion. I always look, and it’s one of the relatively few clothing stores both my twenty something daughter and I can shop together. (Someone mentioned Evereve for that too, and I agree.) She likes Aritzia, so I’ve been in plenty of the stores with her, but I haven’t bought anything there yet. She likes their dress pants for work.

When I was visiting my daughter, we stopped into the Anthropologie.

She found a cute jacket, I didn’t buy anything.

I’ve found that dresses and denim are the things that I buy there. Probably because they carry both in petite sizes.

I bought a velvet Somerset dress for a wedding I attended and I like the denim selection better than other places.

Tops, not as much.
