I am fine with/prefer the traditional request - casual, semi-formal, cocktail, etc. I am struggling with the very specific requests, but we are playing along for a family wedding this weekend. On the one hand I appreciate knowing what’s expected, but man - some are over the top.

I love coats. On my Facebook page some video reel popped up with some gal, very fuzzy far away, walking in NYC. The caption was “why does everyone look so great in NYC” something like that. I googled lens the fuzzy photo and it brought we to the Akira page.

it’s normally $199, on sale for $50. I bought it and just love it. Definitely a statement piece. The only thing I don’t like is its extremely heavy, so definitely a full on winter coat.

Nice. And did you get the coordinating boots too?

Just the leather bra.

Thanks! It’s a little out of my comfort zone. I don’t think my hubbie will like it, but too bad.

I was invited to a 1st birthday party which asked guests to wear a specific color.

All black at an August wedding in Florida is just diabolical!

I mentioned on this thread or the wedding that we went to our good friend’s daughter’s wedding 2 summers ago. She is a fitness influencer (and now also a new mom influencer) and had a very specific “black tie but no black or bright colors” dress code. She wanted “subtle, muted neutrals” for Instagram. Try to find muted neutrals that don’t veer dangerously close to white or off white. Enough people must have reached out to my friend for clarity because her daughter amended the dress code a few months before the wedding, removing the color restrictions. She had a crew there to film content, but I noticed they focused on the bride and groom’s friends, who were wearing the muted neutrals. The bride had three dress changes.

Any feedback on Sleevey Wonders? (sort of thin arm tights, converts dress or blouse to long sleeves). Saw it mentioned way back in 2019 on wedding threads. Seems like it could be helpful for travel. I like that it reverses for Vneck or a higher scoop neck.

Never seen them before but they LOOK cute in photos. May depend on size of armholes of garments you wear them with.

I see they are made in China. That’s not a deal breaker for me. But… I would be more quickly tempted to order is US made. (Of course US manufacturing might push the price point up too much.)

These sleeves (and other brands) are sold on Amazon with what looks like many positive reviews.

Thanks - nice that they can be ordered via Amazon, easy for me to return.

I’d like a pair of white jeans. My old ones are 5ish years old and a little small.

I’ve ordered 2 pair and both were ecru and not white. Hard to tell from the descriptions on the website.

Ordered another pair from amazon and let’s hope they are white!

Oh, I hate that when I want something paper white and it’s just a bit off. Good luck!

Love it! Though I will say I don’t like it with the belt (even though I prefer a belted coat, in general). I think the belt interferes with the bows.

I really like this dress and it’s another 10% off, but I have no occasion to wear it. When I’m looking for something nice, I can never find it.

Very elegant!

I might say buy it now for the next time. And at the same time, I know that when next time rolls around, there could be many reasons why you may no longer find this so perfect.

As an aside, for years, things that showed off my arms or legs were really flattering. Then, almost overnight, they started looking a bit crepe-y, and while I will wear tank tops and shorts in warm weather, I might feel a bit “prettier” in something with more coverage in a less casual setting. Not saying this is your situation, but it has changed the appeal of some of the things in my closet!
