Good point
I don’t understand why the picture was showing, and now just the link
A while ago we were talking about tee shirts. I just splurged on two of these tees after buying the paisley one which fit like a dream! Soft to the touch yet substantial fabric, not cotton yet very comfortable, and long enough to be tucked in and stay neatly tucked in!
I hope they last forever!!!
They are very good quality so might outlive me! ![]()
I’m always on the hunt for quality T-shirts. I struggle with getting the exact length that I want. I don’t want them too long, but I don’t want them cropped. Also, I’m picky about sleeve length (no cap sleeves for me). Lately I’ve been liking some from Aritzia, and believe it or not, Quince. Their boxy tees are a really good quality. Madewell has some good ones too. I also hear good things about a company called Cos, but I haven’t tried them.
I recently was in a COS store - lots of nice stuff and a reasonable p t ice point. Unfortunately, I was meeting someone so didn’t have time to try on anything, but I would definitely give this a look.
I needed new bras. I ordered a few plus some other items from Nordstrom. Their recent sale got me.
Fortunately for me I guess, one bra worked. All the other items are a no go.
Online ordering is such a crap shoot and I don’t know why I even bothered.
I agree, I like it better on just open. Plus the real belt loops are lower than they appear on the model, not sure I like them there.
I’m so with you! I always wore sleeveless, strapless. It’s really been just the last 4 years that I see a big difference in the crepiness and gravity on my arm skin. I still wear them, but not all. I’m always on the look out now for short sleeve tops I like. My thighs have the same. I love dresses that hit me about 3-4 inches above my knees. But now the gravity and crepe just looks awful. I’m embarrassed in shorts and skorts.
is it time to talk swimsuits yet? Finding swimsuits that fit and flatter is always a challenge for me, so basically any time I see suit that might work, no matter the time of year or what I’m in the store for, I try it on. If it works, I buy it.
I bought this at Target the other day, and I’m happy with it. I am very large in the bust and just medium build everywhere else. This top worked well to support and keep everything in place, and the high cut of the bottoms are flattering. I’m also used to having to spend $$$ on suits, so $44 all in on this one felt like a bargain. I got it in red and white, because they didn’t have the black and white in my size on top. I don’t generally love red, but again, if a suit fits and doesn’t look half bad, I’m always going to buy it.
I’m just starting to notice this in my legs and wondering if any of those skin firming creams help. Have you tried any?
@DeeCee36 That is a really cute swimsuit.
I bought the one below for our trip to Bermuda in 2 months.
I will be chasing playing in the water with my GD who will be almost 10 months on the trip and I feel comfortable in this. I will probably put a light cotton shirt over it if I am in the sun too long. I have a couple of swim skirts and rash guards that I will also bring. I am very fair and burn easily so I have to keep covered up.
There is one by Goldbond that at the very minimum is a good moisturizer, but I don’t think it’s as much of a miracle as they claim.
I will wear shorts and short sleeves as long as I can dress myself. Body positivity, folks! Or did that go out of fashion? ![]()
My favorite swim separates are made by a brand with a funny name - Prima Donna. Bra sized tops and several styles of bottoms to choose from.
I also had good success with swim separates from Target. Surprisingly good quality and very inexpensive!
I always was comfortable in shorts and dresses above the knee. I now have lipedema and my legs don’t look like they did a few years ago. I’m struggling with my legs and how they look.
I follow a woman in her 40’s on instagram. I started following her when she had an exercise gym and I liked her workouts. She was always inspiring. She recently sold her gym and is now working to empower women to embrace their bodies no matter how difficult that can be. To wear the bikini. She talks about the messaging tht women are sending to their daughters. She is Jenny schatzle if anyone is interested.
I have this and used it a fair bit last spring/summer. I think I noticed a slight difference - something is better than nothing!
We all have to do what we are comfortable with and I am not wearing a mini dress or anything but I LIVE for warm weather and shorts and skorts. I have some crepping but I look at it this way - these legs keep me fit and active and that is what I want out of them - if they look a little less for wear, I’ll deal with it.
The lotion mentioned is not expensive - if you’re just starting with the crepping, maybe give it a try - be consistent though - twice a day for awhile and keep with it.
Speaking of shorts, I love that Bermudas are apparently back in style. I’m eyeing these:
It’s exhausting trying to keep up with everything that starts to break down when you hit mid-50’s. I haven’t noticed any crepey skin yet but when/if I do, that will be far down on list of my worries.
Even though I am losing weight, I am self-conscious of my arms & legs. I have spider veins on my legs (have been treated in the past for varicose veins, which cause the spider veins, but my insurance says spider veins are “cosmetic” and won’t cover). I also stay in the shade so my pale skin doesn’t help. I rarely wear shorts unless I am going to be outside all day in the summer (rarely happens).
I did start wearing some two-piece swim - never a bikini but high waisted bottoms and cropped swim tops (maybe 2 inches of my middle showing
). After many years, I ditched the skirted bottoms because I felt like they aged me (no shade thrown to anyone who wears them).
My problem spot is my stomach. Two years ago I was happy overall. Now I see a square looking back at me.
I gained weight two years ago, stubborn pounds that don’t go away. At the same time, I’m always hungry anymore.
I’ve had cellulite since I was a late teen. Between that and aging/loose skin, even though I’m a healthy weight, my legs still look terrible. Yeah for Bermuda shorts being back in style but I have to say that I’m trying not to worry about it as much and just focus on being healthy on the inside.
