@Jolynne_Smyth You look great in those shorts!
They look great on you!
Cute!
Dressing Young CC’ers showing the world that women over 50 (? Most?) don’t only dress in stretchy pants and saggy bras!!! ![]()
You look great!
You look great! Hope you bought them.
Thanks for the support and positivity on the jean shorts - didn’t want to be overdoing the youthful thing ![]()
I agree looser shorts are flattering. Saw a bunch of tight-fitting jean shorts at the mall (mainly stores targeting younger age range) - and they don’t seem to flatter anyone (even the models on display!). If a style can’t make a lithe, teen/20-something look good - I think it’s a no-go! ![]()
Those linen pants are very elegant, @elena13! They look nice with the shoes, too!
After reading the reviews, which mostly were unhappy about returns rather than quality, I took a chance and ordered a Rue Sophie bubble skirt. It arrived today, and I’m impressed. Half the price of the Veda skirt I own but no visible difference in quality of the fabric and stitching. I will be a repeat customer!
Half price is great!
Thank you!![]()
lol, still not cheap, but not bank-breaking either!
Here is the Veda skirt:

And here is the Rue Sophie “dupe”:
So cool and funky! I love seeing the styles on this thread that are new and fresh.
I know I’ll get a thumbs down from DH, but I bought it at Marshalls for $50 A Carolina Constas dress, those dress typically run in the hundreds. The fabric is so much more gorgeous than the pics.
I never wear anything like this in the babydoll style as I think it makes me look like I’m trying to hide my body and has that preggers look. But it’s so cute. We are going to Napa and I thought it would look cute there. But be bluntly honest, or I wouldn’t be asking. Seriously. Here’s a pic of what I wish I looked like in it on the stock model. I’m 5’8”. I remember when my Ribcage used to be that thin before my babies stretched them out!
yes or no?
I can see the appeal of the colors/fabric. You have the cutest figure and honestly I don’t think this dress is doing anything for you, especially from the side. It looks like it’s a couple of sizes too big.
If you have a cinch clip that you could try in the back, that might work!
The fabric is beautiful. I don’t love the side view as your chest and upper mid section look like they are on the same plane. But… maxi dresses are a great choice for warmer weather, and few of those very on-trend flowy dresses highlight anyone’s figure.
I’d be happier with that as a day dress for touring than to dress up. Hard to see if the fabric is cool enough for that.
I also love that fabric! But agree - you have a great figure and the dress doesn’t highlight it. But - I guess every dress doesn’t need to?
I’m the same though - feel if I wear something looser/baggy I look like there is more under there lol. Whereas my daughter and friends look super cute in the loose/baggy stuff.
I’ve finally put my foot down with leggings though. So tired of being constricted - just got some flowy pants and love them. Compensating with slightly more fitted tops tho …
But in sum - if the dress is comfy and you love it - I’d wear it! Fabric is elegant and artistic.
I actually love the dress. The fit can be tweaked by a seamstress, but for the price, I’d just wear it as is and resell later. Looks like the fabric is cotton or linen or blend, so perfect for summer beach walks, wine tasting trips, etc.
I also love the fabric and think it looks good on you. It’s a perfect dress to wear for wine tasting in Napa.
I love the blue and white Carolina Constas dress I got from Marshalls in May. I am wearing it to dinner tomorrow night with friends.
