you don’t need a track suit. Saggy, stretched out capris will complete the look–especially if you accessorize with a fanny pack.

Speaking of multiples… Just got a spam e-mail from Bluefly: watch Johnny Weir coming out of his closet (literally):

He has the same looking bag in all colors of the rainbow. LOL. Wow, he’s got lots of Russian military inspired junk.

Mafool - fanny pack! I love it!

Just when I think I should swear off wasting time reading posts on CC someone makes me laugh out loud.

Ah, Johnny, I love you. It couldn’t have been easy growing up here in central PA. I am so happy you are enjoying yourself. I would take you shopping with me any day.

BB - I think he may have more bags than you and Gourmetmom!

Fanny pack - here is just the right one:

LOL.

That Johnny Weir video is priceless.

Got a Talbots catalog in the mail today. When Talbots is selling cargo pants you know they really are updating their look.

Bumping this back up.

Reporting back from meet-DH’s-new-colleagues in NJ. Wore my favorite hippy mom skirt, linen slouchy sweater. No other hippy ladies at the dinner but also no capris. Mostly nice summer dresses and heeled sandals. But the big news — DH’s new boss . . . has a pony tail!

Well, I guess that’s his idea of dressing young!

^
Assuming the new boss is male?

A man in his early 60s probably - it just made my day. Very conservatively dressed and head on you’re thinking Mr. Dull, then he turns around and there it is, a long pony tail of gray hair. Slayed me.

^

Early 60’s - my immediate thought is “former hippie”:)

He was just groovin’ Sewhappy in her skirt!

Talk about nailing how to dress to impress DH’s boss :)

lol - he was very nice, very serious and not at all like my deadhead BF back in college who had a ponytail and majored in aero and was just sure he was going to live on Mars someday.

But speaking of skirts, this had arrived while I was up in the wilds of NJ and I must say it is a really nice casual summer skirt. Am wearing it as I type this. I think I’m going to have to order the one in mango, too.

[Knit Tiered Beach Skirt - Garnet Hill](http://www.garnethill.com/knit-tiered-beach-skirt/womens-fashion/apparel-accessories/skirts/144471)

I did something I thought was going to be stupid and ordered a swimsuit online (after getting the catalog). It’s a halter 2 piece with what they call a “full tide” bottom from Athleta, which is part of the Gap organization. It is not quite as “full tide” as my older J Crew bottoms, but it fits fine and looks pretty good. I was SURE it would have to go back. SCORE!!!

Thanks sewhappy for the link to the beach skirt, I am going to order ASAP!

Some friends from Hong Kong just visited, apparently the fashionistas from that part of the world is into a lot of bling, I mean lots. A Toy Watch with lots of bling (rhinestones and plastic) is apparently part of the get up.

I have to confess, though initially I was too dazzled by that much glitter under a bright summer sun, it kind of grew on me. Now I am googling Toy Watch and thinking of one.

I wonder if it is a part of growing old to wear loud clothes and accessories. I used to prefer black and khaki and most of the wardrobe tend to be neutral. Now I find myself eying those gold summer sandals with big colorful rhinestones.

Is it just me or does anyone else online shop and just fill up the shopping cart but not actually put the purchase through when they are stressed?

My current order at Garnet Hill is over $2,000! Talk about window shopping.

sewhappy… sometimes I do that…but not to the tune of $2000!

Speaking of things for young gals, anyone see the NYT article on the contact lenses that make your eyes look bigger? They actually enhance the size of your iris. Real big in Asia and now catching on here in the US with HS and college girls. Only $20 per pair. Lots of safety concerns. And they look…weird. The girls look doll-like with them on. Kind of like anime characters. Don’t think the older set will go for them… I wouldn’t TOUCH them.

Going on to a business appointment this afternoon and had NO idea what to wear…it’s almost 100 degrees. Settled on black and white with silver jewelery and silver/black ballet flats. It’s a long walk from the parking lot but usually freezing in the building.
