^ What a hoot, wnp - the blue gel Ferragamo slays me!

I know - sophisticated jelly shoes.

Just chiming in to say that I agree white jeans are a wardrobe staple. They can be quite understated when worn with a longer top - once the bum is covered there is no risk at all. Urged on by my friends on CC, I recently wore white jeans and a paisley print tunic in white/orange/navy to a wedding BBQ - I felt very comfortable, fashionable, and appropriate.

I like the rose gold sandal - the Ferragamo jellies…are awful.

Here’s a turquoise and gold sandal. This brand is insanely comfortable.

[Helga Champagne/Turquoise Combi](http://www.beautifeelshop.com/product_p/0973-361.htm)

Oh, that Beautifeel turquoise/champagne number is wonderful. But can I spend so much on my kid’s shoes??? So demure and stylish.

I have a pair of Beautifeel – they are amazingly comfortable.

Oh, oh. Shoe lust.

Looking for advice on what to wear (shoes) with this dress. I’m going to my D’s MBA graduation ceremony at Georgetown. It’s probably going to be warm. I don’t wear really high heals (nothing over 2 inches). Don’t think flats would work, but was wondering about wedges. I’m stumped. This is the part of shopping I hate. I need someone to put all the pieces together.

wnp - Those are some serious pink suede heels:). Glad you liked the dress!

Bromfield - Brown rope wedges?

I just got these to wear to spring graduation events. They are very comfortable but I think might not be bold enough for that fabulous dress, Bromfield.

Have read raves about the comfort of these –

The heel might be a bit high, but it sounds like the shoes are very comfortable. And here is my absolute favorite:

[Salvatore Ferragamo Vara Bisque - Zappos Couture](<a href=“The Style Room - Women | Zappos.com”>The Style Room - Women | Zappos.com)

( I stumbled upon this:

and can’t get the darn thing out of my head!!)

FYI - the Ferragamo jellies are not comfortable. I returned the pair I ordered (in a different color), because they hurt my feet.

Yep, that. Fluevog. Reminds me of shoes young adults might buy to wear with vintage wear.

Love, love the cork slide.

Alum - a little tongue in cheek - but when we started talking spring colors and suede, your dress popped in my head.

Whew - I am glad we got the jellies out of the way!

I like the Ferragamo Vara Bisque for Bromfield’s dress. I love the dress AND the bangles they showed with it. I think wedges are a good choice for graduations. Invariably, you end up walking across grass to get somewhere.

Sewhappy - I occasionally splurge on something for my daughter, but unless she absolutely loved those shoes (or you have the same size foot), that wouldn’t be where I would be extravagant. All of these shoe possibilities look like items WE would love - but you never know about our daughters.

I’d worry that the Ferragamos are too sedate for the animal-skin patterns. I’d be tempted to go rawer, if we aren’t adding rope texture to the mix. For example…

Check out the Tory Burch shoes at Saks - there are many that look particularly nice with the dress. I like the idea of a brown or natural color shoe with a bit of orange.

Alumother - those Fidji shoes are gorgeous and the comfort review intrigues me. I think they’d be perfect with Bromfield’s dress.

Gourmet - all gorgeous shoes, the Birman is sublime. Wish I could afford . . .

sewhappy - I tried to address your question about transition, today on the blog. [In San Francisco We Are Always Transitioning | Privilege](<a href=“In San Francisco We Are Always Transitioning - Privilege”>In San Francisco We Are Always Transitioning - Privilege). In sum, I think if you’d be willing to order several online and return the bad actors, a trench should be findable:).

A privilege as always to read your great blog, Alumother. You did it again. I want that Madewell jacket . . .

My pleasure! Madewell is doing a great job making hipster accessible to the rest of us. Go Jenna Lyons, the Steve Jobs of mid-range style.

Love the shoes, Alumother and Gourmetmom! (Also like my ads on CC so much that I don’t want to clear out the cookies). The Fidji sandals would work really well with the dress, IMO.

Since I looooove wedges, I just had to scout Zappos for them. Here are some safari-inspired wedges (not all have heels that fit Bromfield’s criterion, but they are so lovely, I could not simply pass them up!):

toneranger-Jergens natural glow is working for me-

i had glow in the dark legs. I tried tanner stuff before and it was a disaster. I ended up with patches and streaks. Ick it was awful. That was years ago and i wasn’t about to try it again. But then i read something in a magazine about the tinted moisturizer that jergens makes. It has worked for me so far. I got the type that said for fair skin because i was scared. It is very gradual and just gives you a tiny bit of color. I also just started using the same sort of stuff for my face, since i don’t tan outside any more-especially my face.

About wearing high heels when you are tall…Ok i am not close to 6 ft but i can get close to 5’11’’ with certain styles. That is taller than my husband and plenty of men that i run into. I love being taller than my husband with those shoes on-it makes him feel like a big shot(haven’t you seen those guys on the shorter side walkin around with the hot tall chick??). I have a pair of super high black boots that i call my superhero boots. They would work with a cape and tights!!
