What is trending for spring? I was just out looking for shoes - i noticed my spring/summer shoes are looking a little worse for wear and I have also started a new job since fall, so I need to update and refresh.
I LOVED these shoes, I thought they would work with pants and ankle pants and skirts. Sadly, they were too big in the ankle - I would have needed a narrow width. I will have to see if there are similar styles that fit better.
Ok fashionistas…looking for a dress like the linked image for a beach destination beach wedding where I will be the MOB. They don’t have my size in this style. Can anyone find something similar???
@mom60, I saw that dress too that you posted but the sizes available are pretty small and it seems like the dress that @NorthMinnesota likes only came in small sizes too and she said that they didn’t have her size.
OK, so my first search for you was to find a cold shoulder dress similar to the dress you liked that was not in your size.
However, knowing it is a beach wedding, I’m going to throw this dress out to you because I think it is very pretty and would work in such a setting. I don’t own this dress, but I own one quite similar from them in a size 16 and it fits very nicely. This one also comes in a 16:
@NorthMinnesota I would bookmark the Nordstrom page, things come in and out of stock and since it looked like it was stocked in every other size, yours could come up again soon.
Another thought is to call the stylist at the closest to you Nordstrom. Maybe she can find your size in stock at a store and they can ship to you.
The stylist could also be a big help finding a similar dress and the service is free. It looks like there are 2 Nordstrom in Minnesota, hopefully they aren’t too far from you.
That is one popular dress. The morning it was in stock for all sizes except XL and now only L left. And the dress is not in stock at the Minneapolis stores either
What deb said about calling your local store! Nordstrom has 2 inventory systems: online sales and store sales with some overlap between the two. I often had success with going that route.
That said, the Sundance dress linked soozie is gorgeous.
@deb922 offers good advice. When I first viewed the pink dress they had all sizes. They once again have it in a 12.
I think the first dress @NorthMinnesota posted is probably popular with a wide range of ages and body types.
Soozievt- I always love all the Sundance links you post.
@NorthMinnesota Lily P dresses always remind me of the beach–if you’re a Lily hater this won’t work. If you like Lily–maybe something like this would work. There are other maxi dresses on the site.
I just tried it, and the “blue surf” color (great for the beach) comes up as available in XL, but not the black one. Jump on it if you like it, @NorthMinnesota
(referring to dress you liked when you first posted about it)
I got it!!! Yay! Thanks so much for posting that it was back in stock! It won’t be shipped for a few weeks but I feel so much better. You ladies are the best! Now to find some jewelry and shoes!
Wondering what people would wear to a 50th birthday party we were invited to: invitation says 'Black and White Ball" and, for dress: black and white, '60s (there’s a reference to Truman Capote) and ‘masks optional’. DH plans to wear a tux. I think it’s the references to Capote and the '60s that are throwing me a bit. I have two black dresses, both short, that I could wear or I could buy something new. Neither of my dresses are reflective of an earlier era. I’m sure either would be ‘fine’ but I really wonder how others are interpreting the invitation.
