Love the dress! Super cute.
Love them all, especially the dress. I’m heading to Toronto in November. Can’t wait. I have my reservation at Canoe one night. You’ll have to give a Trip Report .
We are staying at Hotel Ocho. Looked very cool and was one of the recommended places to stay in the NYT’s 36 Hours In…series. https://www.hotelocho.com
Other than that we have nothing specific planned. We’re just going figure stuff out once we are there.
Adorable outfits! Congrats!
We were invited to a destination wedding weekend in Napa and the attire for one of the nights is “dressy casual”. I’m not entirely sure what that means but I do know that many of the people attending are more fashionable than I. I’m hoping I can wear black pants, black booties and…I don’t know what on top. The one person I can ask said she may be wearing leather pants with a top that has some bling on it. I’m wearing dresses the other two evenings so I’d really prefer pants. I also bought a new dress for the wedding so would prefer to limit more purchases to one top that, hopefully, I can wear again. Finally, I’m fine with sleeveless but I do need to wear a regular bra so no off the shoulder looks for me. Would love to hear what others would wear in this situation.
I normally don’t buy duplicates, but recently went ahead and bought another color of my favorite dress of all times! Going to take it out wine tasting this weekend.
Oh, saw Napa in the post above!
Black pants/ booties are perfectly fine for dressy casual. Some nice flowy top will do. You don’t need to go sleeveless or cold shoulder.
Very pretty, BB! Enjoy the wine!
@collage1, For dressy casual I’d probably wear black, very fitted pants, with a pretty tunic-y type top and pumps with a fairly high heel (I look stumpy in flats so rarely wear them - ymmv.) i think black booties will be fine, also. If it’s chilly and event is outside I’d throw a pashmina over my shoulders or wear a leather jacket (I have several in different colors and styles so one always works. )
If its warm summery-ish day/evening I might wear a simple sheath dress and pretty scarf over my shoulders.
I’d wear “fun” jewelry instead of my pearls or gold necklaces, etc.
Anyone try airbirds? Looking for something to wear with jeans. Usually wear Roms or a boot. I want something for casual wear that I can walk Costco in and not hurt my feet. Sometimes Toms are too thin on the bottom.
@FallGirl wears Airbirds I think! I am also interested in a review of them!
Do you mean All Birds?
If so, I have the Wool Loungers in Natural Black. I wear them often & will buy another pair when they wear out.
At first, I wasn’t sure if the loungers were too snug or not. Thought I might need a half size up (which they don’t make). I ordered the next size up, and confirmed those were too large. Kept the smaller size and discovered the loungers stretch and loosen with wearing. They are really perfect now. I find them very comfortable and I usually wear them without socks.
I don’t own very many pairs of shoes, and I tend to stick to a brand & style when I like it. These All Birds make the cut!
@Midwest67, I’ve read they don’t have much arch support. That’s still enough for you? I love having my arches supported or my feet get tired.
==popping out the insert now and looking at it==
The insert in the All Birds has gentle arch support. I can see if one needed a more pronounced or stiff arch support, it might not be enough.
Thanks—I have crazy high arches. Sometimes I’m ok with no arch supports but when I walk long distances, my feet get tired more quickly if there are no arch supports. Maybe I will try to get to the SF store when we are in that city in November and try on some.
Haha - All Birds, Air Birds!!!
Yes! Meant All birds. Was curious about sizing and also the two different fabric options.
@abasket we seem to have similar shoe taste.
@HImom in the faq section it says you can take the insole out and orthotic should fit.
Yeah, I realize that the insole can be removed and replaced but for nearly $100, I prefer shoes that are ready to wear as they are. Thanks for mentioning that possibility though—will consider it.
I have a pair of all birds. :). Mine were my “souvenir” when visiting NYC. I have the wool lace up style.
They are really comfortable, they are to worn without socks and I would equate them to wear smart wool socks that are shoes. They are not like running shoes/trainers. And should not be confused with that level of shoe as far as construction and arch support.
I am very happy with mine and wear them often. I think they are very stylish to wear out and about.

Might try to see if I can try the Hoka in wool.i think I’ll order the all bird in the other material or the wool lounger. I can get the Hoka for less through a Friends and Family discount.
@deb922 that is what I’m looking for. A shoe that is somewhat stylish and I can wear out and about. I already have athletic shoes I wear for exercise.
Those Hoka’s are cute @mom60.
Paging @MomofWildChild, she’s a big hoka fan, so maybe she’s tried these.
