Vince. Cashmere = Dangerous
I wish I’m could wear sweater dresses, but I just have too many bumps and lumps on my hip area and tummy. I was in the Nordstrom in Chicago a month ago and they have a huge bar area on the 2nd or 3rd floor (on the men’s floor). I thought how smart that is. I’d take DH shopping all the time with his CC! Haha! When we drink we get happy and money grows on trees.
That cashmere dress is lovely!
I bought a Vince cashmere sweater off eBay and it’s still one of my favorites. Thick and so soft. Washes up nicely. Swoon!
Beautiful dress. I’m looking for something shorter as that length doesn’t look great on me. I love Vince and this reminds me I think I have a Vince tunic sweater in my closet.
I like longer (midi) dresses of that cut with boots or booties. I have a cable-knit dress that is way more than a decade old now and is getting a lot of wear. Needed to find a closet buddy for that dress!
@conmama - you are being too harsh about yourself! Bumps and lumps? My mantra? It is other people’s issues if the clothes are not undersized so the body is spilling out of them.
Rats looks like my D thought the Vince tunic looked good on her. I did find a Splendid black cashmere tunic in my closet.
I look best with just above the knee. I want to be able to wear with black leggings or tights. I like a bootie, tall boots just aren’t comfortable on my feet.
@conmama try one on you might be pleasantly surprised. I have thin hips and legs but I do have a stomach. I do what I can to have tight abs but I also acknowledge I like my body as it is. Not perfect but it’s mine.
Are booties like this still in style? I’m looking for something to wear with skinny jeans or leggings on casual days. Currently I am wearing short boots with a heel and a bit of ankle exposed but once it gets really cold I need to have no bare skin!
Plus my feet appreciate a flatter shoe/boot.

I have two pairs of these. The are high enough so that leggings stay ‘tucked in’.

SO incredibly comfortable and the heel isn’t much higher than @sufcity above. Walked miles thru London and San Francisco. They are warm but not hot and look cute with skinny jeans or even the right skirt/legging combo.
@surfcity, those are adorable and plaid is very trendy right now, too!
@dietz199 those are GREAT looking boots! I also see a shorter version that is cute too, I may have to add to cart!
Any thoughts on this style? https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/taos-cutie-lace-up-bootie-women/5366353?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FBrands%2FTaos&color=black%20leather
Has anyone bought these Duckfeet boots, or any of their products? They look so comfortable. https://duckfeetusa.com/products/faborg
Pointy toes are always fashionable, but my feet are not pointy.
I got the new purple Allbirds- limited edition. Love them.
@surfcity , where and how would you wear those. I don’t wear “work looking” boots as fashion, so can’t help you. It looks like something you would go hiking in the woods with to me.
D1 is searching for rain boots.
She’s in DC and says the puddles and slush are significant, but not quite requiring Chicago-level hardcore snow boots.
She is looking to grab a pair of used Bogs off eBay. Anyone know how the sizing runs?
I’ll check the reviews at Zappos…
@Midwest67 I have a pair of insulated Bogs https://www.zappos.com/p/bogs-crandall-tall-black-multi/product/8722026/color/80 I’m between an 8.5 and 9 depending on brand and got a 9 in these. Your daughter’s mileage may vary depending on their lining. They’re great boots!
@conmama I would wear them on casual office days, when I don’t want to wear a heeled boot (and have ankle showing in cold weather). If you search on some social media sites you can see those Taos Crave boots being worn with skinny jeans etc. I think it’s a really cute look and not like you are ready for hiking. The ones I linked to (the Cutie) do look a little more utilitarian.
@dietz199 where do I send your commission check? LOL I was sharing a photo of those Crave boots and DH remarked how much he liked them so now I am trying to decide which color to get!
“I would wear them on casual office days, when I don’t want to wear a heeled boot (and have ankle showing in cold weather). If you search on some social media sites you can see those”
Why would a heeled boot have to involve “ ankle showing in cold weather”. I wear these heeled booties. No ankle exposed in cold weather. There are many others like it. https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/jeffrey-campbell-siren-bootie-women/4700689?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FAll%20Results&color=black%20neoprene%20combo
I realized I have 2 pairs of the Taos Crave boots- got them a couple of years ago. I have the dark red and the green/teal. I love them. They are SO comfortable and I wear them with leggings/dresses as well as jeans.
CF, no experience with those Duck Feet, but they certainly look cool for the right hipster look (and comfy, apparently)! They are unisex Euro sizing, so I would go with the typical Euro conversion (e.g., I wear size 9 US and would go for 40 Euro). I am looking into their clogs for wearing wile sitting at my desk at work (folks here wear Crocks, Tevas with wool socks - you name it, OMG and LOL- for that purpose, but we certainly keep our shiny pumps ? handy for those occasions when formality is needed).
