Dressing Young (Part 1)

mom60 - I use my cell phone calendar for EVERYTHING ! Even my shopping list. Sometimes I went to the store and totally forgot why I were there!

Yup, that was a re-run of her “bags and shoes” show which I’ve seen last fall. If you have wide calves, you are not really limited to that J. Crew boot. If you go to Zappos and search for “wide calf boots”, there is quite a selection, close to 100 choices to pick from! I know, because I had to get boots for my very athletic DD. :)

Got my Merrell wool clogs for three days and now I’m looking for flop for the summer.
I saw it from Bliss website, looks interesting.
Is it worth to buy?

An update: Daughter arrived home for spring break yesterday. She tried on the jacket, and it fits as though it was made just for her - and she really liked it. Sometimes life is good. What a buy! :)

More news regarding moisturizing lotions with self tanners. I tried L’Oreal Sublime Glow today. It’s too soon to report on its effectiveness, but it does not have that odor I find so distasteful in other brands.

Reporting back on the Liberty of London collaboration with Target. Went there this morning. Only looked at the clothes. Very cute prints, fabric is not the usual cotton lawn, of course. Daughter got adorable top. Perfect for those who like and can carry off au courant fashion. And the top was only $20.00…

Alumother, I was intrigued by the colorful commercials, so I checked out the clothes on Target dot com. Cute, but I will most likely look really silly in them. “Silly” is not the image I want to project! Nice clothes for the under 20 crowd. Lucky them.

I need to find something for the upcoming trip to sunny CA - all of my spring clothes are too big! I’m doing a lot of online digging, looking, sighing, shaking my head in disbelief at the prices, looking again… I have a feeling that I will have to hit the mall next weekend. Wish me luck.

The stuff I liked at Target was Jean paul gaultier- * but really not for someone who is over 50 /98 lbs*
I bought socks

Bunsen- they have a store in Belltown

BB - ooh, a closet full of clothes that are too big? That is something to celebrate. It will be so much fun to try on new things for your upcoming trip.

Today I have to really get back to hitting the road. Last week I walked, but not at my usual distance or intensity. Boy, could I use a sunny day!

Anyone out there go to a Cabi party? I accepted an invitation for one in a couple of weeks. Curious.

So, here, on this gloomy Monday, I have lost 4 of the 5 pounds I gained from ONE indulgence at dinner Friday night. Why does it take three days to lose weight but only one day to gain it?

I need sun too!!! Nice weather coming later in the week. Can’t wait to break out the spring clothes. I WISH they were big on me…but no such luck!

I have a friend who buys a lot of her clothes through Cabi and always looks fabulous. I’ve been thinking about trying to find a Cabi rep in my area, so I’ll be interested in your thoughts.

This is such a hard season to dress for - I’m tired of my winter clothes and most of them are too warm anyway, but it’s not really spring yet. So I went to TJ Maxx and spent about $60 on 4 very cute in-between-season tops to wear with jeans. Feeling quite proud of myself ;)

Toneranger - I think we may be in the same weather region? I have so much work to do today and I would like to just make a pot of tea, grab my kindle and so back to bed!

I think a trip to TJMaxx or Marshalls would help - here’s to shopping young!

I did buy cute flip-flops for both my daughter and myself. :)

WIP - yeah I believe we are both in eastern pa…what a horrible winter!

TJ max sounds like fun to me. Nordstrom’s Rack too.

I have tons of work too…and taxes to do…blah. But I will get out to the club and do some work on the machines plus yoga. And eat REAL healthy food. I need to shed some winter pounds before I go to that Cabi party at the end of the month!

I went to my first Cabi party last month. I usually avoid these party/buying events, but this was held by a very good friend. So I went. The wine and the particular group of women definitely enhanced the evening!

This is what you will see: [.: CAbi Spring 2010 :.](http://www.cabionline.com/Spring2010/spring2010/catalogue.asp)

I liked some of the clothes, and they seemed well made. You can see prices on the link.

Yes, the party I’m going to is also being hosted by a very good friend…I think it might be fun.
So mafool…do you get to try some things on? Are all the clothes out on display?
Thanks for the link. If you don’t mind my nosiness, what did you buy?

Yes, the clothes are on display and you can try them on. Our poor consultant was trying to present the whole line before the tryiing on began, but we weren’t particularly well behaved. There were not samples in every size. Part of the job of the consultant is helping to determine what size you should order based on the fit of the sample size or the fit of another item in your size. She should know how each item “runs.”

Our hostess had rooms with mirrors for changing, but I was glad I had worn a camisole so I felt fine about changing into and out of various shirts and sweaters. (Some of the guests who did not wear a smaller sample size wanted to see what some items looked like on a person and I was nominated.)

I purchased the green cardigan, the black and white skirt, a black cropped cardigan , and a white shirt. (not to wear together!) Everything I received fits perfectly, much to my surprise.

Some of the other clothing was just too busy for me, but to each her own!

I do like that black and white skirt…just don’t know if it’s long enough to cover my elephant knees  (honestly, they’re not that bad…I’m just very sensitive to the gradual growth of those fat “pads” above the knee!)

You will know once you see it. Mine hits just at the top of my knee cap, I think. (I’m 5’5".) The black “shrunken” cardi looks good with the skirt. I think they will go with me to graduation in May. Because, of course, all eyes will be on ME

the shrunken card looks very cute.
We’ll see about the skirt…I’m very tall.
I’d rather not be forced to go with the dowdy brown long skirt and top. Maybe I should start doing leg presses…
Looking for a graduation day outfit too…my son has two ceremonies so I guess I need two!
