I know the “priority” deadline was Jan 15 and I know that it’s rolling. (Specifically speaking for Drexel) I just recently decided that I wanted to apply but I’m just an average student - 3.48 GPA. Because its rolling, should I not bother applying now? Or Do I still have a chance? The regular deadline is March 1.

Heroes,

Though most of the students here on CC are top of their class and extremely high achievers, everyone’s profile is different. I don’t know your situation (ex. whether you took the most rigurous courses your HS offered and got B’s, or if you took regular and slacked off), but I can tell you that if you personally feel you have a chance at the school you should apply.

I know we hear this often and repeat it as well, not every one is a 4.0 student and not every school is looking for a 4.0 student, and it’s true. Though schools do look for merit and achievement the thing about college admissions is that not one of us is a shoe-in. Maybe you have a great extracurricular record in one particular activity you love, maybe you’re the drum major in your band, or maybe you volunteer extensively at your church. Everyone has their hook and passion, the point is to convey to a university why you are the perfect student for them (perfect as in “perfect fit of a student”, not “4.0 student”), show them that you will succeed as a student, that you truly have a desire to attend, and a solid reason as to why you deserve the opportunity. After all, isn’t that the platform of college applications? To find specific students for a specific college, so that they may succeed?

Good luck on your endeavors.

lilmiss - that’s some really nice positive thinking (: Thanks for that!

I know I could have definitly gotten in if I applied earlier because my school is top ranked and my merit falls within their “average”.

But because I’m applying “last minute” my real question is - when it comes to ROLLING admissions is it HARDER to get in the LATER you apply? :s How much more competitive does it tend to be?

Go for it! My daughter just declined her acceptance there, so hopefully that opens up a spot.

A friend of mine told me that it is possible to apply for the same Fall Term even if you get rejected at first… isn’t it unusual??
