TV is reporting 19 injured, the story says 12. The driver has a history of DUIs.

Not drunk. High. Either way that poor girl is still gone and all of those others injured. What is wrong with people?

I am having so much trouble getting past this. She was 18. It could’ve been me or anyone I know who happened to be walking around Times Square. I was right there the night before. When it’s close to home you don’t stay rational.
It seems like he just wanted to hurt people.
I feel so sorry for all those hurt and especially for the family of the young lady killed. They probably looked forward to this trip.
I know it can happen anywhere, but I hate that it happenened in NYC, my hometown. People already think it is a dangerous city. It really isn’t.
This happened outside my office. When I left work last night I was sickened to see people taking photos of the site and photobombing news reporters on camera. I have an 18 year old and I can’t comprehend this.
I heard about this before it hit the news when my thoughtful daughter texted me that she wasn’t walking in Times Square in case I hear anything. I guess she wasn’t sure it would hit our news but let me know just in case.
My daughter, whose office is near Times Square, also texted me that she was ok just as I was hearing about this. It is just so unfathomable. The driver is now saying he wanted to kill as many as possible. Just why???
