Drivers license

I have a drivers license from a european country, does anyone know whether I have to get a drivers license from Washington state, and if so, do I have to take a driving test? Or can I drive with my european license? :)

If it’s not an international license, you need to get a Wash license.

You will need a Washington’s drivers license if you plan on driving a car.

Here all the instructions and details: [WA State Licensing: Moving? Get WA license](http://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/moving.html)

"By law, you have 30 days to get your Washington driver license once you establish residency in Washington State.
How to establish residency in Washington

You’re considered a Washington resident when you do any of the following:
Arrive in Washington and begin establishing a home in the state.
Receive state benefits.
Get any Washington State license at resident rates.

Receive in-state tuition fees."

I assume that since you won’t meet any of the above “residency tests” you can use your license. Licenses from other countries are generally acceptable.

If you are from Germany, you won’t have to take the test - just pay the fee and give them a couple of documents.

In any way, I would recommend you to contact the Department of Licensing and find out everything needed.
