Driving route suggestions Asheville, NC to Columbus, OH

DD will be driving by herself to her new internship and we aren’t familiar with the roads in the area. All 3 Google maps suggested routes will take about the same amount of time. To go via I-23N is 400 miles, via I-75N is 470 miles and via I-77N is 450 miles.

Because I am a Mom, I am interested in the route that is the least confusing and has good areas for rest stops and doesn’t go through too many sketchy places. Any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated.

I would take 75N, very safe, plenty of stops on the way to Columbus

It’s US 23, not I-23. Most of it won’t be freeway, will be 2 lanes and wind through the hills and mountains and go through the small towns. That’s why it is fewer miles but takes just as long. The route including I-75 is probably the most straight forward.
