Drop In Grades! Junior Year

I’m finishing up my second semester right now, and I’ve always gotten A’s (okay and two B’s) throughout high school. However, I really bit off more than I could chew and my grades dropped drastically. For Junior year, it looks like this:

1st semester- 5 classes (3 college level), and all A’s
2nd semester- 6 classes (4 college level) and 3 A’s, 1 B (almost a C), and 2 C’s

Honestly, I’m burning out. Between being an officer of 3 large clubs, having a huge academic increase, and dealing with the death of a really close friend, I’m starting to flounder. I don’t know how to salvage my chances at getting into an amazing university. I’ve been aiming for Boston University, UNC-Chapel Hill, and a few other top-tier universities but I don’t think I stand a chance anymore given my drastic drop in grades. Any advice/opinions?

It all depends on your SAT or ACT. If you score high, it can help (aim for 75th percentile score). UNC- if Out of state- is basically out of the picture for you now (Still apply, but expect a no). Boston U is still possible. Do well first semester senior year and they might see your semester as a fluke. What were your final grades in the classes? If your final overall grades are solid, then you may not be in such bad shape.
