Drop Language for extra science

Would not doing 4 years of a language hurt you in college admissions? For example, if I wanted to take 2 sciences instead of a science and a language.

This is what the Yale Admissions site says:

What are the two science courses you are considering taking, and why? If it is, say, AP Chem and AP Physics (or AP Bio), then it might be to your advantage to take them both if you are seriously considering a science or engineering major, because at Yale that would enable you to skip some prerequisite courses for your major. That way you’d have more room for electives (and foreign languages…which are offered in much more variety here than at any high school).

I dropped Spanish IV to take an extra science-- I figured it would be worth it as it would allow me to take all the science classes offered at my school. If you are a. bad at Spanish and b. considering a scientific career, I say go for it! Three years of a foreign language is already pretty good.

I only took two years of a language, but doubled up on sciences instead, since I’m going to be a science major. I got in, so I’ll take that as “it doesn’t really matter.”
