dropping a class but i have ap credit

i want to drop chem 141 instead of bio because there is no way i will get more than a B+. I have ap chem credit. can i drop it and use my ap credit to move on?

depend on your major and career goals

If you do not do well in chem 141, why do you think you should “move on”? Grading in Chem 142 tends to be harder than 141 (in the sense many of the weaker students are no longer taking chemistry, and thus the average student in 142 has a better grasp of chemistry with test averages being higher). Moreover, the concepts from 141 are necessary to perform well in 142. AP credit or not, you certainly do not have a good grasp of college level introductory chemistry as evidenced by your “struggles” in 141. In reality, a B+ in first semester chemistry is really not a bad grade especially when taking Bio 141 concurrently. Remember, you also must learn the material to perform well on your MCATs which are weighted equally with your GPA. IMO, you should continue with Chem 141 as a B+ is certainly an acceptable grade. Go to SI/Chem mentors, go to your profs office hours and work hard.

That’s good advice.
