I am planning on dropping an AP class (for one reason, I got a low B in it the first semester). The second reason is I plan on taking up a job that will take around 30 hours a week, and I need to make space in my schedule for this. Do you think Harvard or any school of its caliber looks down upon this?

probs… but then again, it depends on the job your exchanging it for/your financial situation

Yes, my mom just had a baby and that has placed a financial strain on my family (since she will be at 70% pay for 6 weeks, then 6 weeks without pay).

I don’t think it would hurt to send a letter to the admissions office asking their opinion. Worst that will happen is that they’ll tell you they don’t want you to drop it.

Are you a senior that just applied? Either way I would just do it and then mention it in your interview or something. It probably isnt that big of a deal.

I had my interview about two months ago. And yes I already applied. I sent them an email explaining the situation.

Oh! Good question, I am planning to do the same (different situation, though).
