<p>So I was in an introductory engineering course, and they started off writing codes immediately. And I had no coding experience. During discussions, the instructor assistants helped us create codes, but they didn’t really show us a variety, they showed us one thing and told us what it does. I used the codes that we learned on an assignment, and got a 0 on the assignment for plagiarism and almost got kicked out, but the professor didn’t notify the honor counsel.
Since I was so behind in the class, because I didn’t know how to code anything, and I didn’t want to risk further troubles in class, I dropped it, and switched to a psychology class.
I know I’ll be behind in psych, but I think thought it’d be better than struggling in a class that affects my major.
My main concern now is, will the professor care that I dropped it?
Would he notify higher authorities because I dropped the class?</p>
<p>If, on your honor, you reasonably acted, as any sound student in your situation, then you should be fine.</p>
<p>bigshot, it really depends on the AHC, Academic Honesty Committee.
To the OP, how do you know it wasn’t brought up to the committee yet? Did it just happen?
If it was a week or so ago, I am sure you would have heard by now.
Also, the professor probably won’t be mad you dropped the class but happy.</p>
<p>I met wiht him and he said he’d let this one go.</p>
<p>Now my question is, how bad does a W look on a transcript… everybody says it’s not bad, but this guy I know personally says it’s bad…for finance at least.</p>
<p>The W will be for psychology, I’m an engineer major… freshman</p>
