Dropping electives in ILR

As a parent, I noticed on an ILR web page, it states that you must drop any electives using a drop slip and get it signed by an advisor. Is that the case for all electives or just ones they block scheduled? If you dropped an elective course earlier this fall semester like anthropology online, does that mean you are still registered because you did not use the slip and get permission?

Are you planning on enrolling with your kid? LOL How is this in any way relevant to your interests?

Once again, can your daughter not step into the ILR office and ask these questions herself?

If either you or her were so concerned that she would still be enrolled (by this time, if she were still enrolled she’s beyond failed and can’t drop the course), maybe check Just the Facts? I’m willing to bet if she dropped it online, it’s not showing up in her class roster.

Hmm…wonder why that is?

It’s not a big deal, but why does it say on the ILR site, that you need to use a slip to drop an elective? Just making sure we didn’t miss something.

It might be best just to park the helicopter in the garage and go enjoy not having a bunch of teenagers around the house. Don’t get stressed out about this stuff…that’s your kid’s job now!

So can you drop elective courses online during add/drop if you’re in ILR, or do you need to notify the registrar and fill out a slip? JTF is not necessarily what is on file with the registrar.

I also noticed in JTF, all of the elective select boxes for the fall 2009 schedule were grey. Does that mean you are supposed to contact the ILR registrar to drop any course? I know that my son only dropped a course online but did not contact the registrar.

Anyone know the general policy for dropping any electives in ILR?

I don’t know. Why don’t you stop in at Ives Hall and ask the counselors there? Either that or let your son manage his own life.

Also, CR contacted me in a PM asking me THIS SAME QUESTION AGAIN.

I answered to the best of my knowledge, and once again she posted AFTERWARDS THE SAME QUESTION AGAIN ON HERE.

No wonder the AU Parents think you are a ■■■■■.

Also, you’re breaking school policies. No one except the student and administration is supposed to have access to a student’s JTF.
