Since I got wait-listed to Rutgers, I figured I would try applying again after getting my associate’s degree at a community college. I’m interested in the Dual Degree Program they offer - however, I’m wondering when and how to apply to it.

It says on the RU website: “Students who are currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year college are not eligible for this program.” Does this mean that I have to apply now, as a current high school senior?

Yes that’s what it means. Even though I got in, I wish I had joined the DDP when I began at my community college because at least I would have had the peace of mind knowing that I was guaranteed acceptance to RU upon completeion of my Associates. Upon entrance to ur CC join the DDP. You can be guaranteed acceptance, provided that you maintain at least a 3.00 GPA upon completeion of ur AA/AS.

Thanks for the response! Where do I apply for the DDP? At my local CC’s website or on the RU website?

No problem at all! Glad I could help. Before you register for classes at your CC, be sure to ask about their DDP with RU so that you can join it before you begin your program of study. Im not sure exactly of how you join, so I dont want to give bad advice. Ask the counselor, they will be able to guide you in the right direction. Best of luck!!

Thank you, same to you. And if you dont want to go the full 2yrs then just do 1yr at CC and then try to transfer to Rutgers. That’s what a lot of my friends did. Take main courses like ENG101/102 History, psychology, ect. Be sure to take summer/winter courses to speed up the process.
