Junior DD is planing on majoring in mechanical engineering. Would dual enrolling calc1, chem and physics at our local community college negate the need for taking subject tests for schools that list them as not required?
Thank you!

No.
Dual enrollment counts for course rigor. Subject Tests show proficiency in a HS-level course, and if they are not required, then they are not required.
Thank you.
However, if colleges say subject tests are recommended it would probably be in her best interests to take them unless there is a specific reason not to (ex. unaffordable to family, tests not given within a long distance from home etc.). Most applicants to top colleges will take the recommended subject tests. I agree that a DE class will not take the place of a subject test for college admissions.
