My D has been invited to go with her boss who is also a good friend on an equestrian trip. The location of the riding is in Ireland but a bit closer to Belfast. They want to arrive a few days early to acclimate to the timezone. Her boss is leaning towards flying to Belfast. My D is wondering is Dublin would be more interesting. Opinions? Places to stay in Belfast? What would you do with two days in Belfast area?
Duck.
Seriously, I’ve only flown into Shannon. I think that Dublin is going to be FAR more interesting than Belfast.
Tell them to see Newgrange. It’s an hour or so north of Dublin, so in between the two cities. It is an ancient religious and astronomical site, older than Stonehenge or the Pyramids, but not well known outside of Ireland.

I haven’t been to Belfast or Northern Ireland but I’ve heard good things about the Giant’s Causeway and the Titanic museum.
I have been to Belfast and Northern Ireland, and can second the recommendation for the Giant’s Causeway and the Titanic Museum.
If you’re in Belfast without a car, I’m not sure how you get to the Giant’s Causeway. I was on a bike, and it was maybe three days away from Belfast.
The Titanic Museum isn’t what you might imagine, a museum about a shipful of rich people who sink. There is some of that, but it’s more about the people who built the ship, how they built it, what their lives were like. Like many other ships built in and leaving from Belfast in that time period, the Titanic carried immigrants seeking a new life in North America; the museum tells us stories about them. My husband and I went to the museum on a whim because we had some free time, thinking we probably wouldn’t like it that much, and ended up loving it.
