I am a junior in high school and I am wanting to major in design and drafting technology and math at Central Missouri. However, I also want to run cross country and track there. I wanted to know if this would be possible with sports taking up so much time.
Well, it’s difficult to know up front. It depends on how much time both sports take and how intensive those majors are. When the time is right, you can talk to a coach at Central Missouri and find out how demanding the schedule is.
The first thing I would ask is why do you want both of those majors?
Do you need a second major in math or do you just need some math classes? (or visa versa)
What is your intended career path?
Do you do cross country now? Are your times competitive with the college times?
How do you do with running and academics now?
First, I would highly recommend against majoring in Dueling, which hasn’t had a decent job market since probably the 1700’s.
In all seriousness, I would echo both of the previous posts in this thread, who have given great advice and questions you should be asking. Particularly when it comes to if you actually need a dual major.
