I hadn’t watched any of this train wreck for quite awhile but my D2 called me and said I needed to turn the wedding on - Jinger was always one of my favorites (if I had one!) - there was something about her behavior - maybe it was nerves maybe it was being videotaped - who knows, but she sort of seemed not too overly excited - just kind of stunned!
And yes they announced that Joy-Anna is courting now too.
I still say, “FREE JANA!!!”
I have not watched any of these episodes since the scandal broke and they ‘renamed’ the show. I did see a couple of weeks ago a news article that Anna is filing for divorce, but I can’t remember the news source, how credible it was. It wasn’t a click-bait article, but I wasn’t convinced 100% that the ‘unnamed’ sources were trustworthy. Once someone produces copies of filed legal papers, then I’ll believe it.
And yes, poor Jana. And yea, why aren’t any of those boys getting married (one had a failed courtship)… oh, wait, just like Jana, those boys are needed for manual labor on their property, and just maybe 98% of girls have no desire to have to live up to the expectations of Michelle Duggar, popping out babies every 18 months.
I just hope that after one more excruciating “courtship” season this show will finally bite the dust. It looks like Jana has no interest in marriage, and in any case is needed at home to care for all the younger kids, since the rest of the surrogate mothers are or will be making their own litters. The boys are way too boring to sustain a show. Maybe the end is in sight. And then we can only hope for occasional reports on how this gaggle of ignorant, uneducated nitwits is managing to support itself and its spawn without TLC’s payments.
I thought so too @abasket!
He seemed much more emotional and in the moment than she did. She reminded me of a Stepford wife with her flat affect. The number of times and effort that went into her sisters fluffing her train to make it perfect bugged me. But then again, the whole family irritates the bejesus out of me.
I don’t know why but I thought we’d see Jinger really cut loose and feel her oats a little (crazy I know). But of the three to get married so far, she seemed to be the most low-key. ??
"She reminded me of a Stepford wife with her flat affect. "
YES!
I didn’t watch anything past when they literally RUN down the aisles out of the church when it’s done - did they show any reception or anything?
Joy Anna?!? Next you’ll be telling me that previous little Josie is in a courtship.
I also prefer the Bates (at least their public image) to the Duggars.
Although Jana and John aren’t married (and I think they are the ripe old age of 26 or 27), the next three girls (married) are in age order. Then there are twin boys who are about 20 (and maybe one other boy above them?) and then Joy Anna (19), so I don’t think that’s all that unusual for them not to be married as they are early 20’s. Joy is a girl in the middle of a string of boys so was in the ‘older girl’ group. There are a bunch of boys above and below her, and then no girls until the little girls.
I thought Jinger was a girl who didn’t care about anything other than getting married. Fast. There will be more grandkids ASAP, although they are going to live away from the family in Texas. Jinger married a man with his own career, his own family.
