Wonder if the body guard was somehow provided by TLC seeing that both “Kate” and “Duggars” are/were under the TLC umbrella???
I’m going to take articles like the one in post #1019 with a grain of salt - there are lots of print rags out there and just because I feel this Duggar situation is real and awful, it doesn’t mean that I’m going to believe every little thing I read from publications I would not normally trust.
Here’s another family with very tight control over the children. They were not allowed to leave their apartment in Manhattan until one escaped, and little by little, the control was broken down. There’s a documentary about the boys that has just come out, called The Wolfpack.
It would not be the first time a “rag” broke legitimate news. It was the National Enquirer, after all, that broke the story about John Edwards’s extramarital affair and “love child.” (And I had read rumors about his infidelities on Huffington Post at least a year before that story broke).
The NY Times often posts articles on their website several days before they appear in the newspaper. The date on the article is the date it will be in the paper.
Remember the InTouch editor said they have more stories coming out about the Duggars? What kind of journalist is Megan Kelly? She failed to report that DHS had opened a new investigation on the Duggars on May 27, just days before her interviews. The Duggars refused to let the social worker talk to the subject of the investigation.
She grew up in the suburb of Syracuse I lived in as a teen and then moved to the town I live in now. She also went to the same uni (Syracuse) where I got my masters in Poly Sci from. I think she is stalking me!!!
Which explains why she came across as a slick defense lawyer in that interview. But I was still surprised because she has a reputation for being less partisan than a lot of her Fox News colleagues.
The New York Times Magazine did a lengthy profile on her not that long ago: http://nyti.ms/1J7fA2i
Sounds like Megyn Kelly fits a quip from the 40th anniversary Saturday Night Live , by Jane Curtain “Once I was the only pretty blond delivering fake news, now there is a whole network of them”.
John Stewart’s sendup of that Kelly episode is hilarious and worth checking out.
“Megyn is reassuring kids who are young enough to believe in Santa Claus, sophisticated enough to watch a political talk show, and racist enough to care.”
She later claimed she was joking but she actually had convened a panel who were all really angry at the notion that some people would claim Santa was white.
