Duke 2015 ED applicants

Out of curiosity…if you guys get in will you make a facebook status about it? On my news feed I’ve been seeing a lot of “got accepted to x college!” etc

I definitely will  haha it’s like a big thing at my school though.
these 2 days are going to go by sooo slow

where on the site will the decision appear?

Dos dias…cuatro horas…I’m from cali…definitely doesn’t help. -_-

does anyone know if its an advantage or disadvantage to be from ohio?

theres like a 90% chance my school will have a snow day tomorrow, i have no idea how i’ll distract myself

theres no adv or disadv because of a state, if ur considered a good fit by the adcom, then ur in regardless of state…52 hours

Omgosh yeah there is a chance of snow in SC too and i’m dreading it
i’ll just have to sleep all day so time will go by fast

I’m from MA but I’m the only one from my high school to to apply to Duke ED. we already have a few tufts, cornell, dartmouth, and some other top notch schools. if I get in, my facebook status would be probably be “duke 2015” or something, if I don’t, I won’t make a status (could always do “onto round 2”)

@echoxiv, where in MA are you from? I go to school in western mass in a suburban town near acton and chelmsford…

I’m from NJ, and they typically take a large amount of students from NJ but I’m not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, considering that means there are probably simply more applicants from around here. Are any of you from NJ??

Longest *ing weekend of my life. I have so much hw and * to do I need to seriously focus and stop thinking so much about Duke. I know getting attached to one school is dangerous but I will be DEVASTATED if I don’t get in.

I’m sure they consider regional diversity. Perhaps not strongly, or even on purpose, but its probably in the back of every adcom’s mind.

@bear1993

If it helps any to think about, they accept about 55 ED kids from ohio every year. I’m from Toledo…so I know exactly how you feel.

what about CT? I heard a stereotype that Duke students are white prep school kids from CT, so would this mean CT is competitive or not?? and is anyone else here from CT?

If a ton of kids apply from CT, that’s probably bad for you. However, only very slightly so.

does anyone know about washington? and not dc, the actual washington state. speaking of which, does anyone just have a graphical representation of where last year’s freshmen are from in the us?

Although the link states 2013, it is the 2014 profile.

thanks! now onto the hunt for specific states :P

I have been watching this thread for a while now…it is a relief to know that everyone is just as anxious as I am! I am a pratt hopeful from southwest virginia! Hopefully tuesday will come quickly…

This video contains an interesting graph of the relative representation of certain states:
