Anybody from Asia accepted with Financial Aid?

@GreenSweetness I am from India and I did receive fin aid.

Did all those admitted receive an email from their regional admission officers?

@clueless96 I did

I did as well.

Did anyone else receive a handwritten note from their regional admission officer in their acceptance folders?

@AnastasiaAliyev My son did and it was really sweet, very specific to his essay about himself. I thought it was a beautiful gesture!

“Email”

I did

is it true the duke acceptance letters include personalized messages on why they accepted you?

@debatejunkie Yea they do. Mine was about how they liked my passion for music and hope I bring my rock and roll to Duke. It was awesome.

@debatejunkie - You get a handwritten note from your regional admissions officer about one or a few things he/she liked about your application, but they don’t tell you WHY, exactly, they admitted you.

Same for ED. My son received a handwritten postcard from his regional admissions officer that talked about how much she enjoyed his application and listed a few things she particularly liked. It was a nice way to personalize a process that can often feel impersonal.

@Alamom I thought it was really touching as well! It definitely made me love Duke even more.

@nonetaken Yeah, my stats are on there! :slight_smile:

Mine did too. It’s adorable! Love Duke!!

Same here. I had another school do the same thing and I loved it. Seeing it from Duke was a big plus as well.

I had a personal note as well. It was a really nice touch.

My son was not admitted but I know there were so many great applicants. He had a 34 ACT, 4.33 GPA, numerous AP’s but is just a regular kid. :slight_smile: I am happy for all that got in as it is a great school.
