Previously, the parent forms were marked as received on 3/04, but now have changed to being marked as received today, 3/11? Anyone know why this may be the case?
Same here.
i received 2 css fee waiver code from duke at different time while i already submitted my css with their first code. was it an oversight on their behalf ?is that a great sign ?
Probably just an accident. They have a lot of CSS waivers to sort out.
Looks like they’ve updated again for me, to 3/12
mine becomes 3/11 and then 3/13
Did anyone get a 2nd interview?
You got a second interview? I heard it is rare.
Only one for duke, and none for Yale/Stanford. Heard of some ppl getting 2, including a friend of a friend, duke C/O 2024 who got off the wait-list.
When is the RD release date/time? (Hopeful, despite being very low odds)
If you don’t interview for these types of schools… is that a bad deal/sign/gig?
Yale and Duke, yes
Harvard, maybe but probably
Stanford and Penn, no
Take Duke for example… does one sign up for optional interview… or do they request interviews for certain applicants (and therefore that’s a good sign)?
Both. You opt in for an interview, but not all who opted in receive one. Only those requested by the admissions office will receive and interview.
My son got an interview invite late Feb and interviewed 4 days later.
Ah. Sorry I didn’t understand the questions. @greenmelon is right, you can “opt in” for the interview on the Common app, and it is generally considered better to do so.
Nothing we can do now!!! That’s okay… he is in to UVA / CWRU for BME … and has two reach with JHU and Duke and two targets of GT and Vanderbilt (he also awaits TUFTS but that is likely a no-go with his admits). Hard part … while its been a lot of acceptances and high fives… the last week might be filled with a lot of rejections. The hard part is even if/when rejected to a school one won’t go to (e.g. CMU rejected last week) it still plants a seed for imposter syndrome.
Say this on all blogs… but really, anyone that makes it into DUKE is an amazing student… b/c probably half or more of those rejected are also amazing students. Good luck.
I wish you the best of luck, but must as how Vanderbilt and GT could possibly be target schools for ANY applicant, no matter how stellar. Both have acceptance rates under 10%
Yeah… its wonky… that’s in the zone… but agree w/ the notion what books/website call target hard target reach and so on is a bit random!
Everyone go eat lunch or go eat snack or go for a walk outside, go per ur dogs, go bake cakes, do something to ease the pain of waiting. Lol
