Not like any of you recent admits needed anymore of a reason to join the Duke Community.
Milestones, anyone?

@Jwest22: The extensive 60 Minutes report was excellent and, throughout the last few years, I have read a few additional reports from Duke and in the Washington Post. This breakthrough just might be the “real deal,” probably not a cure for every type of cancer, but an additional – and potentially a VERY POWERFUL – tool to complement chemo, radiation, and surgery in many situations.
Having had a few painful experiences with cancer, NOTHING could make me prouder of Duke – or more grateful to have the opportunity to send an annual check to Duke’s Cancer Center – than this research. It’s an awful disease, for the victim and also for the family/friends. Who knows, maybe this is a BIG step forward? 60 Minutes certainly indicated that was a significant possibility.
Thanks for posting this (and it was a surreal Duke afternoon: the Final Four AND this CBS cancer report, within about an hour).
