I saw the QB letter for Duke on Reddit and it said “by mid-December”. So hopefully that means by the 15th. Not sure how literally to take “mid”.![]()
That’s late for Cornell compared to the previous years. Yale is on the 17th. Thinking that Duke may also be later rather than sooner this year
Duke just announced that its ED results will be out on 12/15/25 at 7pm ET.
Where did you see this announcement?
They sent an email
Did any int’l Ed applicant received a css waiver code last week
Good luck to all waiting! It will be a long weekend for sure but hopefully you have some distracting activities planned!
D26 admitted to Pratt - Mechanical Engineering.
We are so excited !
Congratulations!!
It looked like there was a “Congratulations, You’re In!” message, but then the letter said Deferred. Then, the “Congratulations” message was gone. So maybe it was a bug they fixed.
Same here - we were deferred but it was heartbreaking to see the congrats and then letter said deferred ![]()
Any stats on ED applicants/accepts for 2030 class?
What an unfortunate mistake by Duke. This lit up counselor listservs last night and today.
Deferred here as well, but didn’t receive the congrats banner. I’m so sorry you and your student had to go through that. Just heartbreaking.
I have been looking and can’t figure out any trend and have given up trying to figure it out. GPAs, test scores, went TO, ECs, etc are all over the place. I did see a ton of high stat with amazing ECs kids getting rejected and deferred. At this point, I told my kid that there is nothing more that they could have done. I am gonna buy a lottery so maybe I can donate a building
! We were a little bummed but my kid is coming to terms that going to school where they have gotten a lot of love and attention and money rather than continue to chase this craziness!
I heard it happened to rejected students also. Really unfortunate.
yeah ![]()
Oh gosh! That is just heartbreaking . Also interesting because my D26 who did get in had a regular letter. It did start with Congratulations and there were streamers on the page. It must have been an error .
As for stats, applied Mechanical Engineering
4.0 UW / 4.5 W, IB diploma candidate with over 15 AP/IB courses
Rank 8/550
ACT 35 super score
4 year varsity captain in a sport she’s done 14 years at the national / international level, and has several leadership roles in smaller groups. I do think Duke looks for “impact” kids who will contribute to the community. Her essay focused on what she likes about Pratt but also how Duke is a blend of engineering and liberal arts and all the things she will experience in and outside the classroom.
In full transparency, she is a double legacy (me and S24). However, she is the only legacy we know of who was admitted. The rest were deferred - about 5 or 6 kids xx rom different geographic regions and backgrounds. S24 was also deferred ED. he applied TO. Submitted scores after defer and was admitted. So I do think legacy can help but it does not substitute for weaker academics.
To everyone deferred if Duke truly is your #1 let them know. Write a strong LOCI and submit anything you have done this semester. Reiterate why Duke. Historically about 10% of deferred students do get in RD. So it’s not over .
Duke released some data on their ED round acceptances, here: Duke ED Admits 13.8% to Class of 2030; Reports 7% Drop in Applications. Acceptance rate up slightly from the last two years to 13.8%.
Do we know what percent was deferred vs rejected? I read that the acceptance rate is slightly higher but the denominator there is the total # of applicants. We got deferred so just looking for some additional data.
