Duke ED 2024

My daughter got the request and was not accepted.

I’m sorry to hear your daughter wasn’t accepted. This makes me question whether Duke is truly “need blind”. Why would a school ask for financial docs and reject a week later? I am unsure how a university could process financial packages for the percentage of applicants applying out of 4200 in that short of a time frame. The admissions department has to communicate at some point to the financial aid department. It doesn’t make sense and it makes me believe the “need blind” speech is a sham.

Ok so I applied for transfer admissions to Duke for Fall 2020. I was wondering if anyone knew when they announced who was accepted? Also, what is a portal and do transfer students have to do alumni interviews as well? Please help me!

ok I know it’s late but here are my stats and result!

-Decision: deferred
-intended major: public policy
-SAT 1500
-5APs
-SAT2 math 800 USH 780
-asian female
-US citizen (applying from international)
-Financial aid applicant (I received the additional financial info request 5 days before the decision came out
guess duke is not 100% need blind)
-Hooks: legacy
-public school
-rank 8 out of 1002 (top 1%) GPA4.09/4
-recommendation from famous duke alum
-great essays (maybe ? I think it’s subjective tho)
-unique ECs
-AMAZING INTERVIEW (1.5 hrs straight)

weakness: SAT score +

did u guys send the deferral letter? Good luck y’all

To all, if you were accepted, did you request financial aid? Was your demonstrated financial need met and how much did you receive? I am also curious if anyone with a family income of less than $65,000/yr was admitted and will be attending for free (tuition and room/board covered) as promised by Duke. I am not talking about those on an athletic scholarship, just regular applicants.

My D applied regular decision in oct. Had a stellar interview in Dec. waiting waiting waiting
although I do believe the interview does not carry much weight.

I have an income less than $65,000 and all of my tuition was covered and all but around $4,000 of my room and board was covered. The numbers aligned perfectly with what the net price calculator predicted.

@BuckDaddy

did you finally got accepted to Duke? Please update
