The thing that worries me is that the 15th is a Tuesday, which has been used as a release date. However the last time the 15th was a tuesday decisions were released the 10th. I wish Duke would release the number of ED applications they received. I wonder if the completion of the new union or any other factors will affect application numbers.
@ImporTan new union? Last year there were about 3,180 applicants but that was a decrease compared to the # of class of 2018 applicants. As to whether it decreased this time around as well is up in the air
@Lift35 Duke has spent several years planning and building a new Union on the West campus which is set to open this spring. The expected final cost is in excess of $110,000,000.

I’m curious as to how admissions say they aim for socioeconomic diversity yet they say they’re need blind…I don’t know how that works unless they derive it from essays.
@Lift35 socioeconomic diversity will naturally arise from admitting first-generation students, as well as students from certain ethnicities. Additionally, Duke is not need-blind for international applicants.
@ImporTan oh I see. I’m low income but I never mentioned it or anything in my essays so i was curious how they would even know, although I am first generation
They could also derive it from location and the high school profile. Of course if it’s a low income area it’s possible that not all the students are low income but most of them probably are.
i heard that usually don’t release the decisions ahead of the day they say they will release them
I really hope they release decisions early. Dec 15 is in the middle of exam week for me, and I’d really love to get the decision done with before then.

@devilish123 Last year they said the 15th but released them the 11th. Not certain but I believe they have always said by the 15th and released them during the days I posted (usually the Thursday before). Either way, we will likely receive an email saying when decisions will be released.
