Duke ED Class of 2020 Applicants Discussion Thread

Thursday, Dec 10 at 7 pm!!

just got an email from Duke- decisions coming out at 7pm on Thursday the 10th. The same time as my Eagle Scout Board of Review OMG

Just got the email ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I love how we all jumped to CC to post about the email!!!

I haven’t posted on this thread yet but I’ve been following for awhile, so hello!

Ah I love how the email says not to open at school. The Duke Counselors are really good at predicting potential problems from either extreme euphoria or gratuitous amounts of disappointment.

I think I’m even more nerve-wracked after this email :))

RIGHT!

The Duke UNC games will be epic this year as well. Well they always are but…

Has anyone been assigned a financial aid counselor yet? Apparently you can check on the applicant login homepage.

APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK TO DECISIONS PEOPLE AHHHHH

@systemshocker I think only accepted applicants who require financial aid will be assigned a counselor.

What does the financial aid tab look like if you are not applying for financial aid?

If my CSS profile still hasn’t been uploaded should I take that as a sign of rejection ?

hey guys does not applying to financial aid increase your chance of getting accepted??

@gaussss it shouldn’t. If you didn’t, what does your financial aid tab look like? Mine still has red exclamation points by all 3 things even though I’m not doing financial aid

Does anyone have a template to post admissions decisions and what not like they did last year

Do changes to the financial aid tab foreshadow anything? I checked it days ago and everything was checked off including the CSS Profile

@Gausssss only if you are an international applicant

@lift35 it shouldn’t. The financial aid people are not in correspondence with the admissions team. They shouldn’t be related

@john474747 I did applied for financial aid, but I don’t think the exclamation point matters unless you actually applied for one.
@ImporTan Thanks, I was wondering if it would hurt my chances
