I’m a current Duke student and my friend and I were just discussing how we are very excited for y’all to hear back about your decisions. Just know that it is more than just test scores, more than just essays, more than just service, more than just interest, more than just drive. It is how you exemplify these qualities and how you could contribute back to the Duke community. If you do not get offered a spot in Duke’s Class of 2020, do not feel put down- it just means that Duke is not the school for you and you will be so much happier somewhere else, and Duke can see that. ((Also, finals here are putting me through hell, so be thankful you won’t be experiencing this pain)).

PS. I was RD and submitted my aid late and still got a very generous package, so don’t sweat about something being incomplete. Duke will take your stuff late, you just won’t be able to end the ED contract without the guesstimate.

If you look at last year’s thread just like this one, you will see that the first person posted that they got in at 5:53 CST (I am on CST) Also they said that when they tried to log on after 5 EST, the site said they would be down from 5-7 (presumably to load letters) I obviously have no life since I am doing all this admission research.
Regarding if you received emails from financial aid. I’m sure all those accepted in previous years did not receive emails from them correct? (Note: I’m not saying that you were rejected or deferred, but simply stating that I don’t think it means anything) I think they’re smart enough to know not to give away anything

The Financial Aid Office and the Office of Admissions are two autonomous department, thus they do not communicate. The Financial Aid office is simply missing your paperwork and they need it in case you are accepted.

Regarding financial aid, I sent in my CSS profile in end of October but was still not reflected in the system last week. I had to call for them to update. Bit nervous; can not believe admission and financial aid depts would be in communications.
Count 115500 seconds and you will be able to see your results. 8-|
I am anxiously checking the website in hopes it will be posted early. Anyone have results back yet? Duke is my dream school and i’m anxiously waiting. The website is down right now though and is not loading the log in screen. EEEEEP I’m so anxious

Word to the wise:
When checking your admission decision, make sure your laptop or other device is sitting on a table or flat surface…I know someone who was standing and holding her laptop in her hands when checking the decision…she then got so excited that she tossed the laptop into the air like it was a letter…fortunately, it landed on the couch.
