@dunnowheretogo @lhammonx yeah same, i didn’t know they were still doing interviews.
I didn’t get an interview request…but I did do an interview when I applied to Duke the first time around, so maybe that’s why. Did any of you guys who just got an interview request apply to Duke before and do an interview?
@herewegooo I actually did not get an interview the first time I applied, however this time I was notified about one.
Same for me!
Daughter just had a (young) alum phone interview. Super helpful, pleasant, told it was “non-evaluative.” Hope that helps!
Yeah, trust me… you really never know. I was rejected from the University of Florida and waitlisted at Princeton last year. This process is absurd.
Any word on when decisions will be released?
Not a peep. No portal changes except the message about regular decision for March 26th…which they really need to update and remove. Noticed Duke requested IDOC on CSS profile but no idea when and I don’t think it means anything significant.
the worst we will have to wait is only 1 month!!
They will probably release them in early May
How did you get notified that you got an interview?
@CollegeFan89172 I received an email from an alum
My checklist disappeared. So apparently we will hear back by may 10th.
Same
same. Last year it was may 9
Does anyone know how to send in midyear grades?
@mkmk29 they don’t require it! But, you can send via undergrad-admissions@duke.edu ! That’s what the admissions director told me when I called about midterm report
If we didn’t receive an email for an alum interview, is that a bad sign?
@nickvader7 its hard to say and most of what I’ve read is pure speculation. People have been accepted with and without interviews, same with rejections. I don’t think its necessarily a bad sign since it probably depends on availability but I feel like an interview gives a better opportunity for your personality to shine through and doesn’t limit you to being one file in a stack of hundreds.
@SatanFlower69 I had a Duke interview last year as a freshman applicant and my record and grades were not nearly as good as my college grades now. I’ve also done a significant amount of ECs since then.
Hmm.
