<p>I never had an interview, but I got accepted. I also didn’t do the peer recommendation.</p>

<p>Yes, your interview has the capability of making or breaking your application.</p>
<p>I only think the interview will have a big impact if you act like an egotistical A-hole, or act like you have no social skills what so ever and cannot even talk to the interviewer. Then you could be screwed.</p>
<p>Also, if you really make a great impression on the interviewer it could really help. Otherwise, for the majority of people, I think it is just a way to make sure you are not insane ;). But, it could have a very big impact, so take it seriously</p>
